Student-run organization designed to promote academic excellence. We offer SHSAT and SAT test preparation for middle and high school students, as well as a Junior course for K–2nd graders.

What is Prepasaurus?

At Prepasaurus, SHSAT and SAT students focus on a broad range of English and math topics found on their respective exams. Junior students cover crucial reading skills necessary for early scholastic development. All lessons are administered on Zoom, with the goal of providing the best possible online learning environment for every student.

Our SHSAT program serves 6th to 8th grade students to prepare for entrance to the Specialized High Schools in NYC. There is mandatory office hours for students with incomplete homework assignments before class and an optional Q&A session for everyone else afterwards.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I download Zoom?

Follow the link https://zoom.us/download and download the version of Zoom appropriate for your device. Zoom is available for download on PC and is also available on the App Store and Google Play for phones and tablets. After downloading, please check that the application functions correctly before the beginning of class. The Zoom link to join the class meetings will be posted on Google Classroom.

How do I register?

Go to the registration page and follow the steps. Obtain a device with an internet connection and a working microphone that can run Zoom and Google Classroom. Next, download Zoom on the device and create a gmail account for students that do not already have one. Finally, finish the form and make a payment to Prepasaurus. You should receive a confirmation email under 3 business days from prepasaurus@gmail.com on further instructions. If you would like to attend the first class as a trial class, please email prepasaurus@gmail.com for more information!

How much does this program cost?

Here at Prepasaurus, there are three semesters (fall, spring, and summer). Both the SHSAT and SAT courses are priced at $947.00 for this upcoming school year.

When is the program in session?

Prepasaurus offers two class options for SHSAT and SAT students. There is a class from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and another class from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. Students attending our Junior program will have classes on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Breaks and holidays follow the NYC DOE calendar. For each semester, you will be in either the Saturday class OR the Sunday class depending on which one you registered for.

How long is a semester?

At Prepasaurus, there are three semesters held annually: the fall semester (September-January), the spring semester (February-June), and the summer semester (July-August). Both the Prepasaurus website and our Google Classroom will be renewed at the beginning of each semester to reflect the class dates and new material that students will receive.

How would I/my child obtain the materials missed during an absence?

Class material will be posted on our Prepasaurus Google Classroom handle. If you have trouble finding the material there, feel free to email prepasaurus@gmail.com to request any materials your child may be missing.

What is the refund policy?

At Prepasaurus, there is a no-refund policy. Parents are asked to make a one-time payment during the registration process. After the transaction has been confirmed, refunds are ineligible. Contact prepasaurus@gmail.com for further information.
